The Bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act

Lifetime Entertainment Services is campaigning to help restore patient and consumer rights to breast cancer patients and their families.  On their mylifetime.com website here is what they are saying:

Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-Connecticut) and Joe Barton (R-Texas) and Senators Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) recently re-introduced the bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act in Congress. Thanks to its viewers, Lifetime has so far collected more than 23 million online petition signatures urging Congress to pass this critical legislation, which would end the practice of so-called "drive-through" mastectomies when women are forced out of the hospital only hours after invasive breast cancer surgery.

Build your own house using sustainable practices

My buddy Raymond L. is in the process of building a house on his own for his family.  I mean, he has to contract labor some times for multiple-person jobs and he has to build with the proper oversight and licensure of certain contractors.  But for the most part he is building his own house!  And it is completely off the grid.  He has a well for water.  His electricity is not supplied but the local power company but by solar panels.

What supplements should you take?

I had always been taught that supplementation should support foundational nutrition.  For me that means:

1.  A good multivitamin   2.  Cod liver oil and/or fish oils

If extending beyond that I'd say that you can't go wrong with:

3.  A good probiotic formula   4.  Some digestive enzymes

Lastly I've heard people swear by their:

5.  Green food powders   6.  Whole food fiber products

Some argue the need for supplemenation is based on nutrient deficient foods that come from commercial farming or obvious gaps in the Standard American Diet.

Freecycle - find a home for things you no longer need

Tami discovered and turned us on to www.freecycle.org. Freecycle is made up of thousands of local communities and millions of members who give items to each other for free. If you have something that you were planning on donating or have no need for you can post it within your local freecycle community. Someone who has a need for that item will tell you of their interest. No exchange of money. Everything is free.
