No More Excuses. Free Kettlebell Classes...all it costs is YOUR SWEAT!

I have decided to offer a free kettlebell class every Saturday morning at 9:00. The only thing you will need is a kettlebell, a yoga mat (sometimes) and the desire to challenge yourself and to obtain better health! More and more of us let it go and the biggest excuses are money, motivation or time. I am offering this to overcome these excuses.

We will meet once a week for a work out, support and accountability and the rest of the week you will do what you learned at home. The location that this will take place will vary. The beach, a local park or something else of that nature. April 17, 2010 the class will be held at Juno Beach, FL. We will meet at AIA (not alt AIA but rather the beach road) and Marcinski. There is a parking area on the north side of Marcinski with bathrooms. We will all walk across and have class on the beach.

If you are new to kettlebell or just want to check it out, please come. This will be a an instructional class to teach the basic skills of the kettlebell but trust me, you will feel it very much when you are done. The kettlebell is an amazing tool for exercise and puts your cardio and strength training all in one.

To learn more about kettlebells and what size you would need, click on the link below. You only need one to start with. Start with the weight recommended for your fitness level.

What are the TRUE BENEFITS of homemade VS. store-bought baby food?

For most who have had children, you have read the labels on many of the traditional commercial baby food manufacturers' products and see that MOST only contain fruits and/or veggies, some water and vitamin C (ascorbic acid).  SO, what makes homemade better when there is nothing but the fruit and water along with a little added vitamin C in the commercial?

Well, there are several factors that influence the food other than just the actual ingredients.  One big one is the way it is prepared.  Most commercial baby foods (even the natural brands) are heated to very high temperatures and then cooled in order to sterilize them.  This is done to give the foods a long shelf life.  Now, when you make  baby food at home, you also typically heat it for a time to prepare it.  Either way, heating kills some the valuable enzymes and beneficial bacteria, BUT it also kills some of the harmful bacteria.

Homemade baby food with flare!

There are so many ways new moms are educated about how to begin feeding their baby when in actual fact there is really very little scientific evidence in the "correct" way to build a baby's palate! Nancy Butte, a pediatrics professor at Baylor College of Medicine, found that many traditional ways of introducing foods, for example the need to offer foods in a particular order or to delay allergic foods, have very little scientific basis. As for what foods you add when is another subject in itself but why not add some spice to baby purees?
